위프로, CEO 겸 상무이사에 티에리 델라포르트 선임

위프로(Wipro Limited)(뉴욕증권거래소: WIT, 뭄바이증권거래소: 507685, 인도증권거래소: WIPRO)가 2020년 7월 6일 자로 티에리 델라포르트(Thierry Delaporte)를 최고경영자(CEO) 겸 상무이사(Managing Director)로 선임한다고 지난 29일 발표했다.

위프로는 정보 기술, 컨설팅, 비즈니스 프로세스 서비스 분야를 선도하는 세계적 기업이다.

티에리 델리포르트는 최근까지 캡제미니 그룹(Capgemini Group) 최고운영책임자이자 그룹 이사회 이사로 재직했다. 캡제미니에 25년간 몸담은 동안 그는 글로벌 금융 서비스 전략 사업부 CEO, 전체 글로벌 서비스 라인 총괄 등 고위직을 다수 거쳤다. 또한 캡제미니의 인도 조직을 총괄했으며 여러 사업부에 걸친 전략적 프로그램 다수를 개념화, 추진하며 그룹의 혁신 아젠다를 주도했다.

리샤드 프렘지(Rishad Premiji) 위프로 회장은 “티에리를 CEO 겸 MD로 영입하게 돼 기쁘다”며 “티에리는 경영진으로 탁월한 성과를 냈으며 글로벌 시장 경험이 풍부하고 전략 분야에서 깊이 있는 전문성을 갖춘 데다 장기적인 고객 관계 구축, 혁신 촉진, 기술 혁신 관리 등의 입증된 경험을 보유하고 있다”고 말했다. 이어 “델라포르트가 위프로의 다음 단계 성장을 이끌 적임자라 확신한다”고 강조했다.

프렘지 회장은 “위프로에 크게 기여하고 개인적으로 원활한 인수인계를 도와줄 아비드(Abid)에게 감사한다”고 강조했다.

아비달리 니무왈라(Abidali Neemuchwala)는 6월 1일 CEO 및 MD 자리에서 물러날 예정이며 리샤드 프렘지 회장이 7월 5일까지 일상적 업무를 관장한다.

델라포르트는 파리에서 프렘지 회장 직속으로 근무할 예정이다.

델라포르트는 파리정치대학에서 경제/금융을 전공했으며 소르본느 대학교에서 법학 석사학위를 취득했다. 그는 비영리 단체인 라이프 프로젝트 포 유스(Life Project 4 Youth)의 공동 설립자 겸 대표이기도 하다.

Wipro Limited (NYSE: WIT, BSE: 507685, NSE: WIPRO), a leading global information technology, consulting and business process services company, today announced the appointment of Thierry Delaporte as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the company, effective July 6, 2020.

Until recently, Thierry Delaporte was the Chief Operating Officer of Capgemini Group and a member of its Group Executive Board. During his twenty-five year career with Capgemini, he held several leadership roles including that of Chief Executive Officer of the Global Financial Services Strategic Business Unit, and head of all global service lines. He also oversaw Capgemini’s India operations, and led the group’s transformation agenda, conceptualizing and driving several strategic programs across various business units.

Abidali Neemuchwala will relinquish his position as CEO and MD on June 1. Rishad Premji will oversee the day to day operations of the company until July 5.

He will be based in Paris and report to Chairman Rishad Premji.

Thierry has a Bachelor’s degree in Economy and Finance from Sciences Po Paris and a Masters in Law from Sorbonne University. He is also the co-Founder and President of the not-for-profit organization Life Project 4 Youth.
